About Your Host

I have been host to many visiting students over the years, and each one has benefited from their stay in my home. I am always interested to learn about my students and visitors, and find that they are happy to tell me about their countries and background. My two grown up children live away from home but you will meet my partner Daniel who works from home, and our four hens that live in our garden and supply us with fresh, tasty eggs.

Your hostI have worked in various industries, including catering, nursing, not-for-profit organisations and office management in different companies including legal and property.

I have travelled and lived in various countries (with no internet and email). This has given me a first-hand appreciation of the difficulties faced by non-native speakers, and how discouraging it can be when you do not speak the local language. During your course you will learn to communicate in English in the way that suits you.

Most important of all, I seek to build your confidence so that you will not be embarrassed to speak English to anyone.

I have a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA), a qualification recognised by the British Council. Because it is awarded by Cambridge ESOL, part of the world-famous University of Cambridge, you can rely on its quality and recognition.
