Preparing to come
Firstly, let me assure you that while you are staying with us, we will take good care of you. To us, you are here not just to learn English but to enjoy this exciting part of your life with us. Bring Jeans and T-shirts for every day use. You will have regular access to laundry facilities, so bring only the minimum so that you have more space for your shopping. Bring shoes, socks and sandals. Bring a sweater, a jacket and a rainproof cagoule but not an umbrella: we have plenty of these. Do not bring towels and hairdryer: we provide these for you. Do not bring lesson material or books: we provide these to take with you. Do not bring your map of London: you can use ours during your time here. Do not bring too much cash: you can use cash dispensers to withdraw cash after you arrive. Do not bring adaptors to use with your electrical gadgets: we will provide adaptors. You may telephone your family to let them know of your safe arrival at our house, but after that we hope that you will want to speak in English only, and it will not be necessary for you to call your family again except in cases of emergency. We will not charge you for reasonable telephone calls.
